LOL! Eileen – how can you say that about St Delia? Thanks for the advice though. I think my biggest error was over-whisking once I was adding the sugar – but I really don’t know … obviously!

Hi Carla – YAY for a trip to Britain. Which parts are you visiting (or don’t you know yet) – is this on your blog? I must go and visit and see. Glad you liked the earings. Even hubby likes them … or says he does, but maybe he’s just being extra nice to me to avoid more strops …

Ooh heck – I can’t remember where the sweet potato and chestnut thing recipe is – that was good though, wasn’t it? Yay – I CAN cook something. There’s no meringue in a sweet potato and chestnut … thing. (Also no chocolate and no sugar!)

That is a very sorry tale of woe indeed. I was banned from making pancakes for many years for similar reasons, the attempt usually ending in a massive strop and an overflowing compost caddy… Still, it may not be seasonal but I do know you can make an excellent vegetarian sweet potato and chestnut… um… thing.

Oh Polly. Now that I’ve picked myself up the floor from laughing so much, I can truly empathize with you. It all looks so easy when some one else does it! And by the way, the crocheted earrings are lovely.
